To date there have been 15,000 cases filed in the MDL. The first two trials will be held in the Eastern District of Louisiana.

The first trial, The matter of Boudreaux, Joseph J. Jr., is scheduled to begin on April 24, 2017. The Plaintiff, Joseph Boudreaux was prescribed Xarelto to reduce the risk of stroke due to atrial fibrillation. Less than a month after he began taking the drug, he suffered severe gastrointestinal bleeding that resulted in his hospitalization and several blood transfusions.

The second trial, The matter of Orr, Joseph Jr., is scheduled to being on May 30, 2017. The case is filed by Joseph Orr as the result of the death of his wife Sharyn who was prescribed Xarelto due to atrial fibrillation and suffered a brain bleed which resulted in her death.

The third and fourth trials will be held in June 2017 in the Southern District of Mississippi and July 2017 in the Northern District of Texas.

We have recently been advised of a scam in which Xareloto claimants receive calls from a “Xarelto Settlement Line” and are asked for bank account information purportedly to effect deposit of settlement funds. If you get such a call DO NOT provide any personal information.
