Kia Rio Recall

Do you own a 2006-2008 Kia Rio? Korean auto maker Kia Motors America is recalling more than 72,000 Rio small cars to fix a problem with the front-passenger air bag that could harm children.

A sensor mat inside the front passenger seat of 2006-2008 Rios has the potential to crack from fatigue, failing to recognize whether a child is in the passenger seat. Airbags are not supposed to deploy in an accident when children are in the front seat, as they can injure the child.

Kia began replacing the defective airbag sensor for free this July.
