DePuy Hip Implant Lawsuits a Global Issue

Depuy hip implant lawsuits a global issue

While U.S. hip implant lawsuits are dominating headlines, more patients are suffering around the world.

Thousands of patients are coming forward in the United States to fight for their rights against DePuy, the medical device manufacturer behind metal-on-metal hip implants. There has already been an $8.26 million verdict against the manufacturer in California, and the verdict from that hip implant lawsuit is already working its way through the appeals process. It was upheld just recently in Los Angeles.

However, while hip implant replacement lawsuits here in the U.S. are making the headlines, there are other patients in countries around the world who have received the implants.

In the United Kingdom, it is estimated that as many as 10,000 people have received the DePuy ASR implant. In other countries, there are thousands more who might have been affected:

  • 4000 in Australia and New Zealand
  • 3,300 in Ireland
  • 900 in Finland
  • 300 Czech Republic

The trouble caused by these devices is truly becoming a global issue, as more and more patients are experiencing the pain, multiple surgeries, and illnesses that have been associated with these devices.

If you have experienced any ill effects from a DePuy hip implant, see a doctor. In addition to the pain that these implants can cause, these metal-on-metal implants can cause blood poisoning because of metal particles released into the blood.

Lawyers at the Showard Law Firm can help victims in the Tucson community with their hip implant lawsuits. Our skilled team can help identify the parties responsible for your pain and help as you seek justice.
