We love our cars. They get us everywhere we need to go in relative comfort. In return, we wash them, wax them, regularly change the oil, and keep them well-fueled. But when is the last time you checked the air in your tires?
According to a recent survey by AAA Arizona and the Rubber Manufacturers Association, “52 percent of drivers don't know their tires are bald and 55 percent have at least one under-inflated wheel.” Doesn't sound good, does it? No one wants to be slowed down by a flat, or worse – to get into an accident due to a blowout.
Each year, underinflated tires contribute to more than 600 fatalities and 33,000 injuries, according to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration. Those are frightening statistics, especially since AAA Arizona warns that summer heat – particularly Arizona's triple-digit heat – can really wear on your tires.
